Mold found in middle school gym


A mold problem that was found just days before the end of summer vacation in the ceiling of the Whitman Middle School gymnasium was fixed just in time for students to return to classes last week. Town Administrator Frank Lynam said it cost about $22,000 for a professional cleaning company to chemically treat the area. He said the gymnasium has a 20-foot high ceiling, so it was difficult to spot.
