    Globe South: Players of the Week, Top 10 boys’ and girls’ soccer teams

    High Five

    Paul Beatty , Silver Lake: The senior forward registered two goals and an assist in the Lakers’ 3-0 Patriot Keenan League shutout of Quincy. He netted the game’s first goal and then potted the third on an individual effort in which he beat two defenders and drilled a shot to the top right corner of the net.

    Joe Buckley , Cohasset: A defender since his freshman year, the senior has racked up nine goals and four assists in eight games since he was moved up front to striker. He had two goals and two assists in his team’s 8-0 shutout over Mashpee on Tuesday.


    Peter Hoegler , Walpole: The senior captain earned his third shutout of the year with a 3-0 Bay State Herget win against Norwood on Tuesday. He made seven saves, including a memorable tip on a ball labeled for the upper right corner shot from just outside the 18-yard box.

    Corey Murray , Scituate: The junior forward put on a clinic, scoring four first-half goals and adding an assist in her team’s 6-1 win over Pembroke on Tuesday. Her second goal was a blast into the top left corner from 30 yards out on the right side of the field.

    Emily Roan , Cardinal Spellman: One touch was all the sophomore forward needed to get around a defender and put the ball past the oncoming keeper for Spellman’s first goal in a 3-1 win over Bishop Fenwick on Monday. Her five goals and seven assists rank her tied for third in league scoring.
