The School Committee is inviting people to apply by Thursday for the committee seat that opened up when Michael J. Power resigned. The person selected would serve the rest of Power’s term, which ends with April’s town election. Application letters should declare the person’s interest in the seat, and why he or she would be a valuable member of the board, and be sent to George McCabe, East Bridgewater School Committee chairman, 143 Plymouth St., East Bridgewater, MA 02333 by the Thursday deadline. Candidates will be interviewed at a joint meeting of the Board of Selectmen and the School Committee, and each selectman and member of the committee will have a vote on filling the slot. McCabe said the committee intends to hold the meeting “as soon as possible.” For more information, contact Barbara Polese, the superintendent’s administrative assistant, at bpolese@ebps.net.
