Conservation of land known as Holly Hill in Marshfield will go to a vote at the Nov. 4 special Town Meeting. The Open Space Committee recommended purchasing the property, which lies entirely within the Water Resources Protection District. Tom Whalen, a member of the Open Space Committee and Community Preservation Committee, said saving the land would help protect town wells. Located off Holly Road, it consists of 47 parcels totaling 45.67 acres. The Community Preservation Committee and Department of Public Works will each contribute half of the $497,000 price to buy the land from Scituate Federal Savings Bank. Whalen said the land had been divided for residential development, but not developed. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Furnace Brook Middle School.
