Tutors for homeless children

Schools on Wheels of Massachusetts is seeking after-school tutors ages 18 and older to work one-on-one with homeless children in kindergarten through Grade 12. An orientation session will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the group’s headquarters at 790 West Chestnut St., Brockton. Plans call for each tutor to be be matched with a student for one or two hours per week. Tutors are expected to serve as role models, but no prior experience is necessary. Tutoring will take place at shelters, hotels, and elementary schools in Brockton, Norwell, and New Bedford. For more information, contact Robin Gilbert at robin@sowma.org or at 508-587-9091.
