Fall Town Meeting recap

Voters got through the entire warrant at Town Meeting held last Monday at Wareham High School, according to the town clerk’s office. They voted to create a full-time assistant harbormaster position, and water taxi service at Onset Pier. They also approved $7,500 in Community Preservation Act funds to design an outdoor classroom/play area at the Wareham Free Library, and $110,000 in CPA funds to repair the roof of the Multi-Service Center at 48 Marion Road. One article that failed was Article 26, which would have required selectmen to attend public meetings in person. Several other articles were passed over and not acted upon, including Article 16, which would have allowed police to fingerprint people applying for certain business licenses.
