The School Department has been holding community meetings to inform residents about its proposal to repair the roofs at four schools. The Nov. 12 special Town Meeting will consider authorizing the estimated $10.6 million project, with the state covering 50 to 55 percent. Town Meeting approval would then require a townwide election to approve a tax increase to cover the town’s share. The roof work would be done at Hobomock and North Pembroke elementary schools, Community Middle School, and the high school. School officials met with the middle school PTO on Oct. 23 and had a townwide public hearing at Hobomock school last Monday. This Monday, the department will meet with the high school PTO at 7 p.m. at the high school, and will hold another public hearing on Wednesday at the middle school at 7 p.m.
