Making wishes come true for Wellspring

Wellspring Multi-Service Center hopes to raise $75,000 — and make its clients’ wishes come true — at the social service agency’s annual gala Friday night, according to spokeswoman Monica McKenney. The party, which will be held at the Nantasket Beach Resort, will feature a “wish wall” where partygoers can read about specific things that Wellspring’s clients want, and donate money to help fulfill those wishes. Wishes this year, said McKenney, include “I wish I could visit my father. I wish I could have a nice haircut. I wish I could get braces for my child. Or fix my car. I wish my husband could have hearing aids. The wish wall is such a compelling way to tell our story.” Tickets for the gala, which has a Jazz Age theme this year and includes music, dancing, and food, are $100 per person and are available at, or by calling 781-925-3211.
