The possibility of a marijuana dispensary locating in town is being considered more actively. Selectman William Plasko, chairman of the nine-member committee looking into the matter, said the committee has begun meeting and selectmen have begun hearing from companies who may be interested in setting up shop in town. “I’m not immediately opposed and I’m not jumping on the bandwagon,” Plasko said. He said he would like local regulations put in place and zoning changes voted on, preferably well ahead of the expiration of the one-year moratorium in May. Without some local limitations, he said, companies, if they get approval from the state, would be less restricted in where they can locate.
