Police help track down fugitive accused of cocaine trafficking

Cohasset police late last month helped Boston police and federal agents arrest a fugitive accused of trafficking cocaine throughout the South Shore. According to Acting Police Chief William Quigley, Enrique Camilo was arrested in Roslindale Oct. 24. Camilo had been arrested and charged with cocaine trafficking a year ago, and released on $50,000 bail. However, after an investigation, the courts ruled that the $50,000 came from drug proceeds, and the money was seized and distributed among the agencies investigating Camilo, Quigley said, who added that police previously had confiscated cocaine and three vehicles. When Camilo didn’t appear at his next scheduled court appearance, he was declared a fugitive, Quigley said. Camilo is being held on $1 million bail, said Quigley, who praised the Cohasset detectives for a “great job. This is a win-win, Mr. Camilo is back behind bars, we have his 50,000 bucks, three cars, and over 400 grams of cocaine. It doesn’t get much better than that.”
