Full-day kindergarten funds up for vote in Holbrook

Town Meeting is expected to vote Nov. 20 on $125,000 for the full-day kindergarten program that opened this fall. Town Administrator William Phelan said that although establishing the full-day program before obtaining the funds was “a little unorthodox,” the funding has wide support among town officials because it is a one-year expense. In the future, once the students have attended full-time for a year, they will be counted toward the town’s Chapter 70 state education aid, he said. The representative Town Meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:15 p.m. in Holbrook Junior-Senior High School.
