Food pantry fund-raiser: The First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church is inviting the public for a meal of soup and bread on Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. For a donation of $10, people will receive a meal and a hand-painted bowl as a reminder of the good work the food pantry does to address and prevent hunger.

Black History program: The Brockton Public Library is hosting a double feature Black History Program on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. A screening of the movie “Ruby Bridges” will precede a panel discussion about personal experiences or family stories about the Civil Rights Movement. It will be hosted by Ossie Jordan, of Brockton’s National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. Paintings illustrated by local artist Hilton Parham will be on display.
