A plan for repairing the ailing Gates Middle School should be ready by April, school officials said at a selectmen’s meeting on Tuesday. According to town officials, the list of 11 options for either a new or renovated middle school, featuring grades 7 and 8 or grades 6 through 8, should be narrowed to four options by March. A final decision is expected to be made in April. The hope is to request construction funding in the form of an override at November Town Meeting. According to Selectman Tony Vegnani, the plan is to finish construction on a new or renovated school by September 2017. “I think it’s pretty much on track,” he said.
