Six contestants chosen for ‘Dancing with the Stars’

A funeral director, a bank executive, and the high school athletic director are among the contestants in this year’s “Dancing with the Norwood Stars.” Kathy St. Cyr, organizer of the event for the Circle of Hope Foundation, said in an interview that the six contestants include Frederick Wobrock, manager at Gillooly Funeral Home; Susan Bunker, a manager at Norwood Bank; Brian McDonough, athletic director at Norwood High School; Mindy Keyes, a manager at Four Points by Sheraton; Valerie Bishop, a graphic designer; and Christopher Eysie, an interior designer. The event raised more than $100,000 last year. “Every year it grows bigger and bigger,” St. Cyr said. She said the six were matched up with dancers from Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Dedham and will take 10 private lessons leading up to the April 11 event to be held in the Tiffany ballroom at the Four Points by Sheraton in Norwood. The winner is the one who raises the most money, while a judges’ choice award is given to the best dancer.
