Bridgewater State University, which says it has the largest four-year aviation program in the Northeast, will host an open house for prospective aviation students March 15. Anyone interested in pursuing a bachelor’s degree in aviation science is invited to meet faculty and view the aircraft and flight simulators, said university spokeswoman Eva Gaffney. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the university’s Flight Training Center at New Bedford Regional Airport. A separate job fair planned for April 2 will include aviation employers, plus others in communications, finance, insurance, social services, technology, and more. The job fair runs from 1 to 3:30 p.m. in the Rondileau Campus Center ballroom. The general public is welcome at the fair, though Laurent Troland, assistant director of career services, said that the bulk of job opportunities are entry-level, geared toward graduating students and recent graduates.
