Go golf at the library

With all the talk of municipal budget cuts swirling around town, the Friends of the Wareham Free Library are hoping for a good turnout at the mini-golf fund-raiser on March 16. The fourth annual fund-raiser (which was postponed from February due to snow) will feature 18 holes of miniature golf set up throughout the Wareham Free Library’s main branch at 59 Marion Road. Tickets are $5 per person, and proceeds will benefit Wareham’s libraries. In addition to supporting a good cause, “it’s fun to go golfing in the library,” said library director Denise Medeiros. Mini golf will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and golfers of all ages are invited. Refreshments will be served, too. For more information, visit
