Library renovation committee forming

Ventress Memorial Library is forming a committee to guide its renovation. The Board of Selectmen approved the creation of the committee Monday at the request of the library trustees, but members have not been named, Town Administrator Rocco Longo said in an interview. A similar committee several years ago wanted to expand the library, but the project was not funded.  Additional space, however, is expected to come from the former Boys and Girls Club space at Library Plaza. Selectmen decided in September to apportion the space — about 8,000 square feet — among the library, the Marshfield Food Pantry, the Recreation Department, and a special education program. The library trustees will be recruiting members for the renovation committee, Longo said.
