School walking track open

The new walking track at the East Bridgewater Junior-Senior High is now open to town residents 18 and older. Those wishing to use the track must first visit the high school administration office with a photo ID and undergo the same criminal background check required for all school personnel. They then will be issued photo IDs that will allow them to gain admittance to the school from 5 to 9 p.m. on weekdays on the gymnasium/auditorium aide of the school. Hours for use may be expanded, depending upon demand. Principal Paul Vieira said the track was opened to residents about three weeks ago, and eight residents have undergone the background checks and were scheduled to come in and get their photo IDs this week. Guidelines on the use of the track can be found at the schools’ website, www.ebps.net.
