Snow extends school year

The Silver Lake Regional School District announced that the last day of this school year will be June 19, four school days longer than the original closing date of June 13. The Silver Lake Regional School Committee said the school year has been extended because of four snow day closings — “so far.” School was closed on Jan. 2, Jan. 3, Jan. 22, and Feb. 5, based on weather forecasts. Meanwhile, the School Committee, which has begun discussing its budget for next year, will next meet on Tuesday at the Silver Lake Regional High School, 250 Pembroke St., at 7 p.m.
