L&M Bargain, a family-run children’s clothing store, has returned to Brockton and brought along 12 jobs, says co-owner Stuart Salzberg. The shop joined the collection of stores at the Points West Plaza on Aug. 11. L&M Bargain has two other locations, in Dorchester and Roslindale. It closed its shop in Brockton’s Eastway Plaza last year.

The Cancer Support Community-Massachusetts South Shore, a nonprofit providing support for those affected by cancer, held its fifth annual Wings of Hope Butterfly Release in Hingham on Aug. 12. The annual fund-raising event, which released 500 butterflies, and welcomed 300 guests, raised about $4,000.

Auto dealerships under the Herb Chambers Cos. umbrella, including several in area communities, will match donations up to $175,000 made this month to benefit the Jimmy Fund. Contributions can be made at Herb Chambers Ford and Herb Chambers Lincoln of Braintree, Herb Chambers Lexus of Hingham, and Herb Chambers Lexus of Sharon , as well as through the company’s website, www.herbchambers.com. “We are proud and humbled to join Dana-Farber’s fight against cancer, and we encourage everyone to join us,” said Chambers in a statement. The Jimmy Fund supports patient care and research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

Firestone Complete Auto Care has added Mansfield to its Massachusetts locations. The shop officially opened July 1 at 229 School St., and is open seven days a week.

The Brockton public schools were among 89 organizations to receive money from the state’s Department of Early Education and Care through its Coordinated Family and Community Engagement grant program. The Brockton district received $163,900 of the $13.4 million awarded to programs and support groups statewide that work to enhance children’s early learning and development.

The Skating Club of Boston Skating Academy has added a fifth campus to its lineup. The newest location is in Dedham, at 1105 East St. Registration began Thursday, Aug. 20, for classes starting Sept. 20. In addition to the rink, the Dedham campus will offer an off-ice lounge, a pro shop, and an off-ice training center.
