The Massachusetts Coastal Coalition will host a conference on flood insurance Tuesday, April 5, in Marshfield, with separate sessions for homeowners and professionals.
Dubbed the Flood Insurance Summit, the free event features keynote speaker Lisa Jones, a South Carolina-based consultant and certified floodplain manager who helps clients navigate the National Flood Insurance Program.
A panel of speakers with expertise in flood-related engineering, software development, insurance, and public policy will answer questions.
Participants are registered from as far away as Connecticut and Maine, according to Joe Rossi, coordinator of the coalition.
“If people have questions about flood insurance, they definitely don’t want to miss this,” he said in an interview.
The professional session, geared toward insurance agents, bankers, real estate agents, and others whose work relates to flood issues, runs from 2:45 to 6:15 p.m. in the Marshfield High School auditorium.
The homeowner session runs from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Preregistration is appreciated but not required. For more information, visit www.floodinsurancesummit.org.
