The rising senior at Boston College has been suiting up at shortstop for the Harwich Mariners on the Cape this summer and received the league's Daniel J. Silva Sportsmanship Award. He is hitting .254 for Harwich (27-15-2), the top seed in the East Division.

An honor roll student and Patriot League cross-country all-star for Pembroke High, she finished second in the USA Health & Fitness Beat the Heat 5K at Pembroke High School Aug. 6 with a time of 21:53.02.

A three-time finisher of the Boston Marathon, the 32-year-old Southeast Missouri State University grad ran 59.703 miles — 7 miles longer than the closest competitor — at the fourth Sweltering Summer 8-Hour Ultra event in Pittsfield on Aug. 6.
