Quincy Center T station gets $4.27m grant for upgrades

QUINCY
The Quincy Center MBTA station will benefit from a $4.27 million federal grant to help pay for a new bus terminal and make multimodal enhancements.
The grant will be a “first step” toward developing a new bus terminal and overhaul of the entire MBTA station, according to the grant announcement by US Senators Elizabeth Warren and Edward Markey, and US Representative Stephen Lynch.
City, MBTA, and state officials are developing new plans for the station, including a new parking garage and the potential for a transit-oriented development on the MBTA property. The existing garage at the station is closed.
The grant is funded through the US Department of Transportation’s Buses and Bus Facilities Competitive Grant Program.
