Duxbury’s state representative, Josh Cutler, who will be moderating a panel discussion on solar energy March 23 at the Duxbury Free Library, says he considers solar power a key ingredient in the menu of energy options for consumers.
“We want to avoid a ‘boom or bust’ cycle and make sure that community solar and public solar projects can continue to grow, without being impacted by any caps or requiring additional legislative action,” Cutler said in an e-mail.
He said the state Department of Energy Resources is developing a solar incentive program as a result of landmark renewable-energy legislation that was passed by lawmakers and signed by Governor Charlie Baker last spring.

Participants in the panel discussion include Tess O’Brien, vice president of strategic partnerships at EnergySage, and Mark Lampman, of Vivant Solar. Homeowners who have leased or purchased panels will also be sharing their experiences.
The event is being co-sponsored by Sustainable Duxbury and the Duxbury Free Library and will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in the library’s Merry Room.
