Spending requests for a number of building, vehicle, and equipment needs will be the primary order of business for a special Town Meeting in Raynham that convenes on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Middle School.

Proposed capital expenditures include $570,000 to upgrade and install new pumps at the the Paramount Drive wastewater pump station; $135,000 for a dump truck, $85,000 for a utility truck, and $82,000 for a mini-excavator, all for the Highway Department; $171,000 for three police patrol vehicles; $58,840 for a fire alarm system at the public safety complex; $52,000 to buy a pickup truck for the Sewer Department; and $50,000 for design and engineering costs related to building an addition to the fire station.

There are also smaller capital spending requests for needs ranging from the purchase of a new fire chief’s vehicle and the purchase of a new phone system at the Middle School, to completing construction of basketball courts on Pleasant Street, and renovating the Gymkhana Building at the Borden Colony Athletic Complex to create an office for the Animal Control Department.

The meeting, set for 7 p.m. at the Middle School, will also take up spending requests of $349,108 to fund operation of the town’s ambulance service for the second half of the fiscal year, and $21,206 to pay sick leave buyback for a retiring employee.
