Coffee shop Caffè Nero recently opened and restaurant Temazcal Tequila Cantina announced it is opening in December at Dedham’s Legacy Place. The Italian-style cafe offers food options including croissants, sandwiches, and yogurt. Temazcal bills itself as a “vibrant Mexican restaurant and tequila bar” with fajitas and taco offerings.
ALDI, a grocery chain, opened two new locations in Brockton and Wareham on Nov. 30. In a statement, the company emphasized its “focus on fresh items” including its own exclusive ALDI brand products from food to baby essentials. Based in Batavia, Ill., the company said it operates 1,700 stores across 35 states.
Naughty Needlers, affiliated with Weymouth’s Elder Services, raised $3,132 at a Nov. 18 crafts fair that will benefit seven local charities, said member Dot Archibald. The 75-member knitting group sold various knitted hats, sweaters, socks, scarves, and jewelry. “We have a great time,” said Archibald. “We laugh the whole two-and-a-half-hours we’re there.”
The Whitman-Hanson Regional High School girls’ cheerleading team clinched its 12th state title on Nov. 19. Whitman-Hanson topped 11 other teams with a score of 200.2 (out of 220), beating the second-place team by more than 5 points, according to the Massachusetts School Administrators Association, which hosted the Division II competition.
