The address has not changed, but Raynham’s municipal website is sporting a new look these days.
Working with its website vendor, Virtual Towns & Schools, Raynham recently completed a major revamping of the site to make it more aesthetically pleasing and more functional, according to Selectman Joseph R. Pacheco.
The project, undertaken over several months at a cost to the town of about $2,000, marks the first significant overhaul of the website in the past eight years.
“We wanted to make it more easy to navigate and more user-friendly,” Pacheco said. “You have to keep it fresh and current. If it takes more than a few clicks to get information nowadays people are unlikely to use a website.”
Part of the update included added and reorganized content, including a “Find it Fast” feature providing quick access to information, a “Forms and Documents” page, a “Minutes and Agendas” section to follow the work of town boards, and a town news section.
Residents can also subscribe to have news, urgent alerts, and minutes and agendas e-mailed to them.
As part of the project, town department heads underwent training in posting information and news on the site.John Laidler can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
