Challengers emerge for key town boards

Three Carver residents have expressed interest in running for two Board of Selectmen seats in the April 28 town election, and a race is likely for the Planning Board as well.

Selectwoman Sarah G. Hewins has pulled papers to run for reelection, while the other incumbent, Helen Marrone, has not. Two other candidates have emerged: Cornelius Shea III has pulled papers, and Mark E. Townsend, a member of the Republican Town Committee and the town’s Finance Committee, returned his papers Feb. 15.

In the Planning Board contest, incumbent Kevin E. Robinson has pulled papers along with challenger Jennifer M. Bogart.

Candidates have until March 12 to submit their nomination papers, according to Town Clerk Lynn Doyle.
