West: Boys’ hockey players to watch

Players to watch

Shaymus Colman , Needham: A two-year varsity player, the junior will anchor the blue line for the Rockets, who were shocked by Natick in the Division 1 South quarterfinals last year after losing the Super 8 play-in game to St. John's High.

Mike Donadio/Devon Maloof , Franklin: The two juniors will again split time in Chris Spillane's signature goalie rotation. Donadio, who helped lead the Panthers to the Division 2 title game last year, has more size, while the lefthanded Maloof has quickness.

Jack Kilty , Medway: He had 26 points as a sophomore in 2010 but left for the South Shore Kings. Kilty will return to the Mustangs this season in timely fashion as he could fill the gap left by Jake O'Rourke, who graduated.

Brendon O'Connell , Arlington Catholic: The dynamic center posted 14 goals and 21 assists last year and will return to lead the potent Cougars offense.
