Interim principal for Center School

Millie Katzman, a former principal in Brookline and vice principal in Natick, has been hired as interim principal at the Center School, according to an announcement by the school district. Katzman will be working with the school’s departing principal, Christopher Kennedy,  “to ensure a smooth and comfortable transition,” the district’s announcement said. Kennedy, whose last day will be Friday, resigned his position to take a job at a nonprofit educational organization in Rhode Island. Katzman retired in 2011 from her job as principal of the Heath School in Brookline, where she also served on the school’s building committee, according to the announcement. She previously served as vice principal of the Kennedy Middle School in Natick, and started her career as a foreign language and social studies teacher. A reception allowing members of the community to meet Katzman is being planned.
