School Committee to make superintendent decision Jan. 31

The School Committee is targeting Jan. 31 as the date it will meet to vote on whether to hire as the next superintendent one of three finalists: Interim Hopkinton Superintendent Steven Hiersche; Cathy MacLeod, assistant superintendent in Easton; or Wellesley High School principal Andrew Keough. The committee publicly questioned each candidate earlier this month and held sessions where the public could also interview each finalist. A search team from Hopkinton is now in the midst of visiting schools in each of the finalist’s community to verify impressions and better understand each candidate’s management style before doing a thorough background check on each. The meeting on Thursday is open to the public and will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the middle school library.
