48 of state’s top high school nordic skiers off to Easterns in Maine

A team of 48 of the state’s best Nordic skiers will represent Massachusetts at the Eastern High School Championships at Presque Isle, Maine, Thursday through Sunday.

Girls’ MIAA state champion Lincoln-Sudbury has four on the team, including Clara Cousins, Phoebe Seltzer, Talia Seltzer, and Claire Telfer. Other EMass girls competing are Wayland’s Hannah Brigham, Dover-Sherborn’s Olivia Cannon and Caroline Repetti, Acton-Boxborough’s Liza Dawley and Mary Lagunowich, Newton South’s Sophie MacArthur, Newton North’s Julia Schiantarelli and Carina Wallack, Wellesley’s Rebecca Smith, and Concord-Carlisle’s Meg Yoder.

The boys’ team includes Wayland’s Eli Bucher; Needham’s Chris Koziel; Concord-Carlisle’s Max laChance, Jacob Meyerson, and Hank Yoder; Belmont Hill’s Ian Meyer and John Power; Acton-Boxborough’s Lewis Nottonson; Westford’s Trevor Owens and Sean Skahen; and Newton South’s William Rhatigan.
