Race to support education foundation

The ninth annual 5-kilometer Janis Bresnahan Run For Education will be held on May 19. The start and finish will be at Ayer-Shirley Regional High School, 141 Washington St. in Ayer. Race-day registration at the high school will begin at 9:30 a.m., with activities for children starting at 10:30, followed by a 2K fun run and walk at 11:15, and the 5K race at noon. Bresnahan was cocaptain of Ayer High School’s women’s track team in 1989, and was a preschool teacher in Ayer at the time of her death in an accident. The race in her honor raises money for the Ayer-Shirley Education Foundation. For advance registration, go to www.janisbresnahanforeducation.com or call 978-772-8600, ext. 1369.
