Town Meeting convenes Monday

Local officials are encouraging residents to take part in Town Meeting, which begins Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Algonquin Regional High School. All registered voters are eligible to participate in Town Meeting; this spring’s annual session has a 50-article warrant concerning items for the fiscal year starting July 1. Major articles include a proposed 4 percent increase in the school system’s budget, implementing local restaurant and hotel taxes, and projects requesting funds from the Community Preservation Act program.
