Town searching for new planning director

The town is within a few weeks of wrapping up its search for a full-time planning director, nine months after the departure of Jeff Levine left the post vacant. According to a job posting on the town’s website, www.brooklinema.gov, the deadline to apply for the planning and community development director’s position is April 30. The posted salary range is $105,546 to $113,703 , and applicants should have at least a master’s degree and 10 years of experience in municipal planning and community development. Levine stepped down as the planning director last July to take a job as the director of planning and urban development in Portland, Maine. Kara Brewton, director of the town’s Economic Development Division, has been serving as the planning director on an interim basis.
