The ninth annual “The Cure is Coming” fund-raiser to support research into amyotrophic lateral sclerosis will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Lexington Visitors Center downtown. Participants from across the area will be running, walking, or rolling to raise money to help end ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. Walkers will follow a 4-mile loop through the center of town and past the Battle Green. Runners will begin their 5K race at 11:30 a.m. Proceeds benefit research efforts of Cambridge-based ALS Therapy Development Institute.
