Dr. Franklin Story Musgrave, a retired physician and a NASA astronaut for over 30 years who took part in six space flights, will visit Framingham State University on Wednesday to share his stories and thoughts on topics such as leadership, innovation, vision, creativity, and design. The free lecture will run from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Dwight Hall Performing Arts Center. During his career with NASA, Musgrave performed the first spacewalk on a shuttle flight while on the Challenger’s inaugural flight; served as a pilot on an astronomy mission; conducted two classified US Department of Defense missions; led the spacewalk team that repaired the Hubble Space Telescope ; and, on his last flight, operated an electronic chip manufacturing satellite on the shuttle Columbia.
