Alliance honors community leaders

The Brookline Neighborhood Alliance recently honored the town’s economic development director, Kara Brewton, and Irving’s Toy and Card Shop owner Ethel Weiss for their efforts to improve the quality of life in the community. The alliance also cited the group of people who helped establish the Lawrence Historic District last year. The awards were presented during the alliance’s 12th annual meeting on June 10, when the group also voted to admit two new organizations, the Settlement Neighborhood Association and the Greater Point Neighborhood Association, cochairman Sean M. Lynn-Jones said.
