Farmers market returns for summer

After opening for the season this weekend, the town’s annual summer farmers market will run from 8 a.m. to noon on most Saturdays through mid-October in the Kimball Farm Ice Cream parking lot at 343 Bedford Road. The one exception is next weekend, when it will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday on Church Street as part of the Old Home Day Country Fair. New vendors who grow or make fruits, vegetables, baked goods, honey, eggs, meat, cheese or handmade crafts are welcome to join. Vendor permits can be purchased by the day or for the season. For more information, go to www.carlislefarmersmarket.org or contact the market manager by e-mailing carlislefarmersmarket@gmail.com.
