Library offers summer-reading prizes

Fiske Public Library is signing up participants in this summer’s statewide “Dig into Reading” program beginning Thursday. Youngsters who read, or are read to, for a minimum of 15 minutes a day for 30 days this summer will be entered into a drawing for a number of prizes, including book-store gift certificates, donated by local businesses and residents, and the first 150 to meet the goal will receive an ice cream cone. Those who finish the reading program by Aug. 1 are also eligible to get a free ticket to see the Pawtucket Red Sox minor league baseball team. More information is available on the library’s website, www.fiskelib.org.
