Praise for efforts to safeguard pond


The town’s Bare Hill Pond Watershed Management Committee recently praised the 10-year efforts of volunteers, the Department of Public Health, and an environmental consulting firm to safeguard the pond through various measures. One of the most important, the committee noted, was retrofitting eight storm-water treatment sites aimed at removing pollutants and bacteria from runoff before it reaches the pond.
