Register to cover deeds, real estate topics

William P. O’Donnell, the Norfolk County register of deeds, will be at the Franklin Senior Center on Sept. 24 at 1:30 p.m. to discuss the historical background of the registry and its ongoing efforts to modernize and computerize the county’s vast number of real estate records. O’Donnell and his staff will also discuss the Massachusetts Homestead Act, which protects homeowners from having their homes sold to pay off unsecured debts, and residents will have the opportunity to obtain copies of deeds and conduct other registry-related business. To sign up, call the center at 508-520-4945.
