Billy Barrett , Arlington Catholic: The senior rushed for 100 yards, including 60 on a fourth-quarter touchdown run that sealed a 21-6 win over Shawsheen Tech.

Zach Elkinson , Holliston: The junior scored two touchdowns, as the Panthers cruised to a 35-0 win over Bellingham.

Greg Fligor , Weston: The junior hauled in two interceptions, and returned one for 70 yards as the Wildcats beat Randolph, 35-14.

Joe Johnston , King Philip Regional: The senior rushed for 113 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries while the Warriors forced four defensive turnovers in their 35-13 win over Middleborough.

Josh Pierre-Charles , Millis/Hopedale: The sophomore led the co-op Mohawks with 140 rushing yards and two scores in a 33-6 win over Greater New Bedford.

Game of the week

Natick at Weymouth, Thursday, 7 p.m.: The Red Hawks will open the season against a talented Bay State Conference foe in Weymouth, and they’ll be without star receiver Brian Dunlap, who is out for the season with a foot injury. Dunlap scored two touchdowns in last year’s meeting, when Troy Flutie had four touchdowns in a 42-23 Natick victory.
