Plan for yard-debris collection

Residents will have one shot over the next six weeks at curbside pickup of yard debris such as leaves, branches, and brush. The material must be placed in biodegradable paper bags and left on the curb in conjunction with the household’s regular trash collection day. Residents with Tuesday trash collections will be offered yard-waste pickup on Nov. 11; Wednesday collections will be held on Nov. 18; Thursday’s collection date is Nov. 25; and for Friday folks, it’s Dec. 2. Residents are also encouraged to compost their biodegradable material at the recycling center, which is open Thursdays and Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon, and Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Branches brought to the center must be less than 8 inches in diameter. For more information about trash and yard-waste pickup, call the Department of Public Works at 508-647-6562.
