Team sets course for Marathon

A group of 31 local nonprofit workers is preparing to start training for next spring’s Boston Marathon. Team Brookline, which is managed by the town and the Brookline Community Mental Health Center, participates in the annual Patriots Day event to raise money for the Brookline Education Foundation, the Brookline Library Foundation, the Brookline Teen Center, and the mental health center. Undeterred by last April’s bombing at the finish line, 11 runners from the 2013 team are returning to run alongside the newcomers. After an official kick-off event at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Teen Center, the team will train for the next six months with runs along the Marathon course and throughout New England.
