Hearing on temporary medical marijuana moratorium

The Planning Board will hold a hearing on zoning bylaws related to the town’s temporary moratorium on medical marijuana facilities on Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m. in Nipmuc Regional High School’s professional development center. The hearing will review changing the proposed expiration date on the town’s moratorium on the use of land or structures for medical marijuana treatment centers from June 14, 2014, to Nov. 19, 2014, or until Town Meeting enacts superseding zoning regulations. During this time, town officials intend to undertake a planning process to address possible impacts of medical marijuana in town. The complete text of the bylaw is available for inspection at the town clerk’s office. For more information, call the Planning Board office at 508-529-1008.
