Women’s winter coat and clothing drive

Brookline will host its Ninth Annual Dress for Success Winter Coat and Clothing Drive this week to help women looking for work. Donations to the drive benefit the nonprofit Dress for Success, which provides one suit to each client when she has a job interview and a week’s worth of other clothing items when she gets the job. Brookline’s Commission for Women is holding the local clothing drive Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Brookline Public Safety Headquarters at 350 Washington St. Organizers of the drive ask that donated clothing be clean and appropriate for the workplace. Items being sought include winter coats, business suits, blouses, gloves, jewelry, scarves, shoes, handbags, and briefcases. For more information, contact the women’s commission at BCW@brooklinema.gov.
