Forum on camps for kids with allergies and asthma

A free forum on how to select a day or overnight camp to meet the needs of children with food allergies or asthma will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. Panelists will include Nat Saltonstall, director of Beaver Summer Programs in Chestnut Hill and president of the American Camp Association, New England, a no-profit camp accrediting and referral organization, and Sandy and Will Rubenstein, directors of Camp Wingate-Kirkland on Cape Cod. The discussion will focus on accommodations that can be made for children with asthma and allergies, and the process parents should use to learn about day and sleep-away programs. There will be time for questions and discussion. Pre-registration is not required, but it is suggested by calling 781-444-7778, or sending an e-mail to aafane@aafane.org.
