A brief history

 The sport was officially added to the Winter Olympics for the 1998 Games in Nagano (it was played in inaugural Winter Games in 1924, but continued as a demonstration sport).

 Canada (men, 2006 and 2010) and Sweden (women, 2006, 2010) have each
captured two gold medals.
