DPW cutting back on road salt

The town Department of Public Works said last week it will curtail its use of road salt due to a statewide shortage. The DPW will continue to treat main roads and intersections, hills, bus turnarounds, and known trouble areas. A salt and sand mixture will be used to extend supplies. Dead-end streets and parking lots will receive little to no treatment. The DPW will also not be providing salt or sand to residents at its yard, and courtesy barrels will also not be filled. More information is available on the town website, www.wrentham.ma.us.
